New Construction & Retrofits

Reduce First Costs and Energy Usage

Decrease HVAC equipment sizes and cut energy usage by reducing outdoor air intake in accordance with ASHRAE’s Standard 62.1 IAQ Procedure.

Save Energy & Reduce HVAC Footprint with the IAQ Procedure

Utilizing the ASHRAE 62.1 IAQ Procedure (IAQP) combined with Plasma Air technology, consulting engineers can deliver significant first cost savings, reduction in ongoing energy usage and optimal indoor air quality to their clients by reducing up to 75% of outside air intake. Plasma Air takes the time and guesswork out of using the IAQP for new construction and retrofit projects by providing the necessary documentation and free access to PlasmaSoft – our award-winning software for making IAQ calculations and generating the associated specifications.

Reduce HVAC Equipment Costs by up to 25%
Decrease Ongoing Energy Usage by up to 30%

High occupant density buildings are ideal candidates for the ASHRAE IAQ Procedure. Plasma Air equipment is easily installed in the supply air ductwork or in the air handler itself so no special provisions are required. The ionizers use only a few watts of power and there is no discernible pressure drop to worry about. In addition to the ASHRAE IAQ Procedure calculations, we also provide project specifications, ionization schedules, CAD drawings and our in-house engineering support by contacting us or your nearest Plasma Air distributor.

  • Before PlasmaSoft IAQP Software, we were unable to perform Indoor Air Quality Procedure (IAQP) calculations, meaning many of our customers were forced to rely on the expensive Ventilation Rate Method. This resulted in building owners and operators using more outdoor air than necessary in an attempt to maintain ASHRAE compliance. PlasmaSoft® provides a turnkey, easy-to-use solution for the execution of complex calculations required by the IAQP.

  • VRF units have a limited ability to process outside air; they are just not designed to handle a great deal of outside ventilation air, as required by code. This is where the Plasma Air solution comes in. What Plasma Air allows you to do is reduce the amount of outside air while maintaining acceptable indoor air quality.

  • I've designed dozens of schools and churches utilizing Plasma Air's system to meet the requirements of ASHRAE's IAQ Procedure. In addition to positive feedback on the air quality, we saved our clients millions of dollars in construction costs and ongoing energy savings.
